I can't say how often I will do this, but for me I hope I get to do it just enough and when I need it most- because what's a thrifter if they can't share their deals with like-minded thrifties?! Let's get started!
This is Ms. Hazel. She is the child I buy mostly everything for. We call her Secondhand Rose, sometimes. If you ask nicely she might sing the song and do a little dance too. She is an amazing free-spirited 3yr old and happy to tag along with mama and reap the benefits of a thrifting adventure.
This is Baby number 2. We have not yet named him, but he too will be a hand-me-down babe and hopefully love it as much as we do!
The new-to-us Ikea changing table thanks to Dominique on Freecycle!
the clothing was thanks to a $5 for 2 brown bags sale where I ended up with a wonderful haul:
17 pair of pants between 1 baby, 1 toddler and 1 preggo. 1 fleece jumper, 1 turtleneck,3 cotton toddler shirts,1 baby bodysuit,1 pj shirt, 1 pr of pj pants, 1 boys shirt,1 sweater vest,1 maternity hoodie, 1 winter coat from Lands End ( adult!), 5 winter hats, 1 pr of fleece socks, 1 pr of toddler gloves, 1 boppy cover and that is just what I remember.
The Duct tape
pink wool J.Crew hat for Hazel. Reminds me of Bob Dylan's hats only hot pink!
recycled t-shirt from my mom turns into a dress and summery shirt for H.
Salt Water Sandals- usually 30 - 40 $ found for $4 at Goodwill
Handmade flannel diaper in a 2 brown bags for $5!
Some boyish sleepy time clothes 50 cents
Elmo is to preeschoolers, like gin is to Mad Men.
A pair of bear stripey Gap tights ( 50 cents) and a brand new Harajuku pair of pants (99cents at Goodwill) tags still on them, yes my baby boy WILL be sporting these!
A batiked Dead shirt, because every baby needs to pretend to like such an important band at some point.
I hope you enjoyed just a peek at some of the things we've acquired in the last few weeks. I love thrifting, but even so you need money for that. When we do go, we usually have great luck- there still are some gems out there. Moving to the border of CT has opened up a whole new world for me. Thanks for stopping by. xo
